Motheo PSYCH is owned by Dr Mpho Sepato who is the founder and Chief Executive Officer. The company has been trading as a sole proprietor (private practice) under the name of Mpho Sepato Psychological Services, since 2003. In 2014, it was registered as a company called Motheo Psychological Associates (PTY) LTD. The company was subsequently officially launched on the 8th of October 2016.

The company Motheo PSYCH was named after Dr Mpho’s adorable, SPECIAL (quadriplegic, due to brain hypnoxia during birth due to her sudden shortness of breath that could not apparently be explained medically and as such this led her to a condition calledcerebral palsy) and only child.

Motheo was the anchor and inspiration in Dr Mpho’s life, her beautiful smile is what keeps me going. My interpretation of her name is “The Foundation” on which Dr Mpho says she should “build” their future on and impact people’s lives in a meaningful and positive manner.

Her name has a mobilizing and continuous challenging effect on me on different levels. It constantly motivates me to learn, push and work hard to fulfil my purpose in life as a mother and as a professional
